I bought a Hanwei Raptor Shobu-Zukuri today, should be here sometime next week, hopefully. I’ll get better pics of it once it’s here… until then, here’s a description of the katana, the specs, and a few pictures I took from the seller. Description:

According to the sword description used for the online store, the blade is differentially hardened, clay tempered 1060. I think they may be saying the tsuba is 1045. ‍ I’m just hoping it cuts nicely and provides me with a lot of serviceability.

Sounds about right. Unfortunately.

So here is the shinobigatana… I took some preliminary pictures of it last evening when I got home from work, the lighting is terrible so i’ll see what I can do about getting better pictures this weekend.

So I looked over cottontailcustoms site, dude seems to do nice work, unfortunately he is not carving new tsuka at the moment which is what I will need done.

She calls me a dork all the time. I'm scared of her, :) so I usually just smile and agree with her. LOL.

My only issue with this bare blade is, it appears the single peg is ground down and lacquered into the wooden Tsuka. It'll definitely have to be dismantled to customize it.
